并列句和主从复合句在语法填空题中的考查

  一、教学目标

  1.复习归纳英语句子的种类。

  2.探讨并列句及主从复合句在语法填空题中的考查。

  二、备用思维工具

  AGO、聚焦、概念扇、CAF、APC、OPV

  三、教学步骤:

  (一) 限时训练(8分钟)

  1.做题之前,先解读语法填空的题目要求:阅读下面短文,按照句子结构的语法性和上下文连贯的要求,在空格处填入一个适当的词或使用括号中词语的正确形式填空。

  提问:如何运用聚焦思维工具解答语法填空题?

  聚焦指的是“关注事物的焦点,包括目标聚焦和范围聚焦”。做语法填空题,首先聚焦语篇(范围聚焦):通读短文,掌握其大意。然后聚焦句子和空格(目标聚焦):找出句子的主干,看句子的空格缺什么,就补充什么。

  2.学生运用聚焦工具独立思考,做题。

  As I walked home one freezing day, I stumbled (绊脚) on a wallet in the street. I picked it up and looked inside 16(find) some identification so I could call the owner. But 17wallet contained only three dollars and a letter that looked as if 18had been there for years. The envelope was 19(wear) and the only thing on it was the return address. I started to open the letter, hoping to find some clue. Then I saw the dateline— 1924. The letter had been written almost sixty years 20 (early). It was written in a beautiful handwriting, on blue writing paper21 a little flower in the left-hand corner. It was a “Dear John (絶交)” letter that told the receiver, Michael, 22 the writer could not see him any more 23her mother forbade it. Even so, she wrote that she would always love him. It was signed Hannah. 24(actual), I took great pains to find both Hannah and Michael, who still remained single. Then, after sixty years separation, they married each other in 25 late seventies. And I was invited to be their best man!

  (二)解惑答疑(4分钟)

  1.学生展示答案,老师核对答案,并给出评分(1.5分/题)。

  2.学生分小组,针对问题讨论,并解决问题。讨论之前,结合上述文章思考:高考语法填空的命题特点是什么?究竟考什么?(用CAF、APC和概念扇工具)。

  3.老师答疑,侧重解答22题,23题。

  以上句子的主干是“It(The letter) was a “Dear John(絶交) letter”。“that told the reciever, Michael, 22 the writer could not see him any more 23 her mother forbade it.”是一个由that引导的定语从句,修饰先行词“Dear John(絶交) letter”。定语从句中的“22 the writer could not see him any more 23 her mother forbade it”是间接宾语(that引导的宾语从句)。“23 her mother forbade it”是宾语从句中的一个原因状语从句。(图3)

  (三)复习归纳:英语句子的种类(8分钟)

  从以上解题过程我们可以看出,并列句、主从复合句是语法填空题的重要考点。

  1.小组合作并展示(分六组,运用CAF和APC工具):

  1)构建简单句的知识导图(分类,并举例)

  2)构建并列句的知识导图(从分类,并列连词的种类及例句等方面来构建)

  3)构建状语从句的知识导图(从定义、分类、引导词的角度来构建);

  4)构建定语从句的知识导图(从定义、分类、引导词的角度来构建);

  5)构建名词性从句的知识导图(从定义、分类、引导词的角度来构建)。

  6)英语句子的种类(运用CAF工具,对英语句子进行归纳)。

  (四)专项突破:探讨并列句及主从复合句在语法填空题中的考查(12分钟)

  如果空格前后都是句子(一个主谓关系算一个句子),之间没有连词,也没有分号或句号,则一定是填并列连词或从属连词。

  1.如果空格连接两个功能对等、平行的句子时,应根据并列、条件、转折、选择等逻辑关系填并列连词and,so, or , but , while,when等。

  ① He was very tired after doing this for a whole day, 37 he felt very happy since the crop did “grow” higher. (08广东)

  ② “We love China and we love children,” Dorrity said, “25 we are happy to do this.” (2013广一模)

  ③ Tony was just on the point of caching the butterfly  he suddenly felt a heavy hand laid upon his shoulder.

  ④ Prices keep  going up these days  our salary remains unchnaged.

  2.如果判定从属连词所引导的从句起副词的作用,则为状语从句。

  ① We understand this lesson best 40 we receive gifts of love from children.(2010广东)

  ② My friends walked me to the bus stop and waited with me 17 the bus arrived. (2011广东)

  ③ 20 he thought he could escape attention by sitting at the back, he was wrong. (2012广东)

  3.如果判定从属连词所引导的从句起形容词的作用,则为定语从句。

  ① Jane paused in front of a counter 35 some attractive ties were on display. (09广东)

  ② He filled his leather container so that he could bring some back to an elder 32 had been his teacher. (2010广东)

  ③ Of course whenever they turned to look at him, they had to look at Mary, 22 made her feel like a star.(2012广东)

  归纳引导定语从句的关系代词和关系副词的用法(运用CAF和APC工具)。

  参考提示:

  先行词引导词引导词在从句中充当的成分

  人that,who,whom,whose主语、宾语或定语

  物that,which,whose主语、宾语或定语

  人和物that主语或宾语

  时间when时间状语

  地点where地点状语

  原因why原因状语

  整个句子as,which主语或宾语

  the waythat,in which主语或宾语

  4)如果判定从属连词所引导的从句起名词的作用(作主语、宾语、表语、同位语), 则为名词性从句.

  (五)实战训练(8)

  One day, about ten years ago, while working at the cash register in the gift shop at my University Museum of Natural History, I saw 16 elderly couple come in with a little girl in a wheelchair.As I looked 17 (close) at this girl, I found that she was fixed on her chair. I then realized she had no arms or legs, just a head, a neck and upper body,18 (dress) in a little white skirt.As the couple wheeled her up to me, I turned my head toward the girl. When I took the money from her grandparents, I looked back 19the girl, who was giving me the most optimistic, largest smile I had ever seen. All of a sudden, her handicap was gone and all I saw was this beautiful girl,20 smile just melted me 21 almost instantly gave me a completely new sense of 22 life is all about. She took me from a poor, unhappy college student and 23( bring ) me into her world, a world of smiles, love and 24( warm ). I’m a successful business man now and whenever I think about the troubles of the world, I think about that little girl and the remarkable lesson about life that she taught 25. 

  18题:这里单独用dressed过去分词做伴随状语。 be/get drssed in “穿着.. ..”,在句中做谓语。

  对于18题,我们可以采用简单句,并列句,定语从句、非谓语动词、介词短语等多种表达,一句多译,让学生以不变应万变。(用CAF、OPV、APC工具)

  【教学后记】

  上课后,学生对英语中的句子有了比较清晰的瞭解。通过运用聚焦、概念扇、CAF、APC、OPV等思维工具,幷且绘制思维导图,学生对英语中的句子形成了完整的知识体系。更为重要的是,学生掌握了并列句及主从复合句是如何在语法填空题中进行考查的。不过,有的学生对主从复合句的分层,有些凌乱,例如:把三类(名词性从句、状语从句、定语从句),分成了五类甚至七类(状语从句、定语从句、主语从句、宾语从句、同位语从句、表语从句、主语从句)。还有些学生对于简单句的五种基本类型,掌握还不牢固,这可以在以后的写作教学中加以重点训练。
